iPhone came next with 26.6 percent share in the same period, up 1.4 percent. BlackBerry dropped down about 4 percent to 24.7 percent, while Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform was also in decline to 5.8 percent. Palm’s webOS only had 2.4 percent, Media Post reported.
In terms of mobile content usage, 69.5 percent of U.S. mobile subscribers used text messaging, while 39.8 percent use browsers, and 38.6 percent used downloaded applications. 28.6 percent accessed social networking sites or blogs on their mobile devices, while 26.9 percent played games, and 18.6 percent listened to music on their phones, comScore noted.
