Facebook leads as top social media site for news: Study

The top social media site for news is Facebook, followed by YouTube, Twitter, Google+ and WhatsApp, according to Reuters Institute Digital News Report 2014, based on ten countries surveyed.  Google and YouTube are by far the frontrunners, with 60 percent of Facebook users accessing the site last week and 35 percent accessing for news. Fifty-two percent of YouTube users access the site in general, with 15 percent accessing for news, according to Reuters Institute’s Digital News Report 2014.
