Large social media sites declining as newer sites surging: Study

According to Global Web Index, In 2013, Facebook’s active usership fell 24 percent. Between Q2 and Q4 2013, the number of active users on Facebook and YouTube dipped 3 percent, and MySpace dropped 12 percent. Meanwhile, Instagram rose by about 25 percent, while Pinterest and Google+ had increased 6 percent and Twitter rose 2 percent 

Facebook still has the highest active usership among social sites: 59 percent at the end of 2013 compared to 45 percent on Twitter, 42 percent on Instagram, 39 percent on YouTube, 38 percent on Pinterest, 37 percent on Google+ and 35 percent on LinkedIn.
