Study pinpoints legacy and emerging social media sites’ visit frequency

At the end of 2013, 56 percent of Facebook’s active users were visiting the site more than once a day and 28 percent visited daily. iOS users were the site’s most frequent mobile visitors, with nearly 60 percent accessing Facebook on mobile several times per day, according to GWI. 

Twitter, YouTube, Google+ and Instagram have similar frequency patterns, with about one-third visiting more than once per day, about one third visiting daily and about a fourth visiting weekly. Meanwhile, 24 percent of Tumblr users visit more than once per day, while 23 percent visit daily and 26 percent visit weekly. For Pinterest, 20 percent visit more than once per day, 22 percent daily and 32 percent weekly.
