Word of mouth, social media the most popular way to discover video in U.S.

The most popular ways U.S. adults discover original video is through friends, relatives and word of mouth, 51 percent; social media sites, 41 percent; serendipity, 29 percent; advertising, 28 percent; search results, 22 percent; recommendations, 21 percent; and news, 20 percent, according to the Gfk and IAB video study in 2014. World Newsmedia Network has published Global Digital Media Trendbook each year since 2006.
