The Daily Telegraph has launched its new iPad app, which allows free download but charges £1.19 for a single edition, or £9.99 for a monthly subscription, according to MediaGuardian.
The Telegraph offers its newspaper subscribers a complimentary full access to its iPad edition. Last September, The Telegraph introduced its first iPad app, which only generated revenues from advertising and sponsorship.
The upgraded iPad app includes more features, including letters, cartoons, galleries and puzzles.
“Following extensive research we know that our iPad readers want their Telegraph articles enriched with digital content plus a celebration of what makes the Telegraph distinctive, such as Matt and Alex cartoons, crosswords and our top columnists,” said Edward Roussel, digital editor at Telegraph Media Group.
A “daily edition” of the paper’s iPad version will be available for download every morning, at 5 a.m. UK time, FT.com reported.
